The Power of Personal Contact
Homeschool Iowa Capitol Day provides an effective group opportunity to show our lawmakers that we are sincere, authentic families dedicated to providing a proven high-quality educational option.
And there's no registration fee to attend!
We're Here to Help You, Too!
When you come to Homeschool Iowa Capitol Day, our helpful staff is available to show you how to interact with your elected senators and representatives.
It's really fairly simple, but so effective.
Ignite your passion for homeschool freedom at our Capitol Day special session with home educating pioneer, Zan Tyler.
You'll hear how she faced threats of jail time for homeschooling her son in South Carolina at a time when home education was not legally recognized.
Zan went on to organize homeschoolers in her state and serve as an advocate for home education freedom nationwide.
It's a Day to Learn & Explore!
Reserve spots for a tour with the knowledgeable Capitol tour guides, or use a print guide to explore the Statehouse on your own.
Go on a scavenger hunt searching for special items in the Capitol building. Sit in the legislative chamber galleries and listen to proceedings. Follow our provided guide to take a prayer walk around the Capitol.
Homeschool Iowa Capitol Day 2022 is a first-rate field trip opportunity for your whole family!
How Can You Help?
We're always looking for volunteers to help with this event – including youth team members, like these lovely ladies who served at our last on-site event.
If you're interested in helping, email us!
About 65 participants from the Marion Home School Assistance Program, MHSAP, will be coming.
We plan to attend the 1:00 speaker session and have already signed up for a Capitol tour after the speaker. Let me know if there is anything else I need to do. Thank you for organizing this and providing a platform for all homeschooling families in the state of Iowa to gain a better understanding of Iowa government and how their voice matters.
We’re happy to hear your group will be attending, Sally.
Looking forward to seeing you on March 15th!
