Ellie Stangl
Ellie Stangl has been serving Homeschool Iowa as the Executive Director since December of 2025. Her commitment to the families of Iowa stems from a unique childhood filled with intentionality. The second oldest of twelve, Ellie was homeschooled through high school with an education fueled by the desire to know God’s heart and make Him known. This shaped a perspective that eventually led to living abroad doing missions and starting a variety of outreach efforts in the states that include prison, street, and camp ministries.
Throughout her twenties, Ellie worked as a supervisor for a Crisis Pregnancy Center. She organized and trained the volunteers who served close to thirty women a day facing unexpected pregnancy. She also taught in both private and public schools.
More recently, Ellie uses her free time to invest in homeschooling families and works as a doula, helping mothers through the birthing process. She is a foster mom to a seventeen-year-old and her infant son. If you stop by her home, you will find her gardening or cooking and often, getting ready to host people from the community.
Professionally, Ellie also works as the Legislative Aide for a Nebraska state senator. Her expertise in writing legislation and connecting with constituents plays an influential role in her position as Executive Director of HI. She is passionate about bringing people together to support a greater goal and creates this same networking energy within the Homeschool Iowa team.

Pastor Josh Daggett
