Teacher Appreciation Night

As an educator, you go above and beyond the call of duty every day to help your students grow and develop the skills they’ll need for future success. To honor your service, the State Historical Museum of Iowa invites you to Teacher Appreciation Night on Thursday, April 5, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the State Historical Museum of Iowa, 600 E. Locust Street in Des Moines.

During the event, you’ll be able to:

  • Learn about the Primary Source Sets created by the State Historical Society of Iowa and the Iowa Department of Education to help you meet the new Iowa Core Social Studies Standards.
  • See exhibits at the State Historical Museum of Iowa and an enjoy Iowa history scavenger hunt.
  • Connect with exhibitors from cultural organizations and learn how they can support you and your classroom. Exhibitors include The World Food Prize, Iowa Ag Literacy Foundation, Iowa Hall of Pride, Iowa Public Television, CultureALL and many more.
  • Network with fellow educators of all grade levels and subject areas.
  • Enter raffle drawings for prizes (must be present to win).
  • Enjoy live music from Iowa Arts Council Fellow River Breitbach, plus complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a free drink ticket and a cash-only bar.
