Explore various parts of our wonderfully created bodies, guided by Dr. Lainna Callentine. Learn about the heart cycle. Listen to heart sounds and learn their significance. Examine prepared blood slides under the microscope. Dive into the chambers of the heart through an exciting classroom dissection. Explore brain anatomy and physiology. Learn how the eyes and the brain cooperate, Peer into high-powered microscopes at slides of actual brain specimens, and dissect a real sheep brain. "SolidWorks" Teen Track - Ages 14-18 Friday 9am-Noon & 1-5pm ~ Saturday 9am-Noon & 1-5pm $75/student ($20 additional fee for computer rental, if needed)
SolidWorks is a complete Computer Assisted Design (CAD) teaching tool. Students will receiving instruction on using the SolidWorks software (which is available in a free 90-day trial version). SolidWorks can utilized to design automotive, electronic, medical, mechanical and consumer products. Students will gain experience with basic computer assisted design, as well some introductory exposure to 3-D printing. Students must use a non-Mac computer for this course.
